The conference is scheduled to take place November 14-16 at Hotel Ngor, Diarama in Dakar. BREF HISTORIQUE D’AAJN

Des journalistes d’une vingtaine de pays Africains se sont rencontres à Harare, Zimbabwe, du 26 Avril au 2 Mai 2010 à l’occasion d’une réunion organisée par Arterial Network et l’African Art Institute (AFAI). Un comité de direction provisoire y a été élu, avec Tamba Jean-Matthew en tant que président, Olga Muhwati comme vice-présidente, Telesphore Mba Bizo comme trésorier, et Antony Njagi comme secrétaire.

Le comité de direction provisoire d’AAJN s’est rencontré une nouvelle fois du 2 au 4 Juillet à Grahamstown, en Afrique du Sud. Son devoir principal était d’élaborer et d’adopter la constitution d’AAJN, ainsi que de peaufiner et adopter un plan stratégique.

AFRICAN ARTS JOURNALISTS NETWORK

The interim steering committee of the African Arts journalists network met 2-4 July 2010 in Grahamstown-South Africa. The meeting initiated by the Arterial Network and African Arts Institute was a follow-up to the gathering of arts journalists from about twenty African countries in Harare-Zimbabwe 26 April- au 2 May in the same year. The major duty of the said committee was, on the one hand, to work out and adopt AAJN’s constitution and, on the second hand, to fine tune and adopt its strategic plan. Preparations are on for what is being dubbed the biggest gospel concert by a foreign star in Kenya. Organisers of Judah 2012 Concert, which will be held in the Kenyatta International Conference Centre on October 7 have started holding mini-concerts in various churches around Nairobi to psyche up gospel music lovers for the event.

BRIEF HISTORY OF AAJN:
A gathering of arts journalists from about twenty African countries met in Harare,Zimbabwe from 26 April-2 May 2010 in a meeting set up and initiated by the Arterial Network and the African Arts Institute where an interim committee / Task Team was elected with Tamba Jean-Matthew as chairperson, Olga Muhwati as vice chair, Telesphore Mba Bizo as treasurer, and Antony Njagi as secretary.

The interim steering committee of the AAJN met again between 2-4 July 2010 in Grahamstown, South Africa. The major duty of the committee was to work out and adopt AAJN’s constitution and fine tune and adopt its strategic plan.
